The Canary Islands are identified if you are the sunshine heart of Europe! See that sunshine with hotelbye . Canary Islands give you a mild temperatures and a range of fantastic natural attractions. Five of their eight islands have now been reported a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. Probably the most excellent attractions in Canary Islands will be the beaches since they're only great for relaxing in sunlight or enjoying water sports such as windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you is likewise impressing by the interior appeal like: climbing, cycle touring, hiking and even caving. Some of the very most magnificent attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic scenery of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria making use of their mud dunes, or the green woods of La Palma and La Gomera.

I live in the eastern side of England where many summer flowers and shrubs are still in bloom - so you might deduce that it's still not cold. However, I did switch on the central heating two evenings ago in order to check that everything works all right. But not 'soooo cold' over here!

Where are all the Environmentalist now, to conserve a little energy, put on thicker clothing, socks etc. At the moment in London it has been pretty mild with just the odd chilly factor, but certainly not enough for central heating, fires etc. If you must put on your heating just try and turn it down by 2/3 degrees, it should not effect your warmth factor that much and will help towards energy savings on a national scale.

I am afraid as a woman i have reached the stage of having my own internal heating system so when in on my own back door and windows open but when hubby gets in, in evening most nights now he will put gas fire on in sitting room and when grandaughter was staying past few days i had to put heat on around the house as she comes from a central heating home ( we don't have that) and so finds this place cold. I know most people here have it on most of the time now as its more like november than october. Ah well should save some money this winter with me not needing to put heating on for me ...........:)

My heating is always turned on, it is controlled by a programmable thermostat, so if it is cold it comes on. In the summer it never comes on, but the last few days it has come on for a few minutes early in the morning and later in the evening.
I did override it a couple of months ago, to check it was working ok for when we do need it, but I do that every year.

Yes - here in Lanarkshire, west of Scotland. It has been on for a couple of days now - but I think the fact that we have just come back from the Canary Islands has exaggerated the cold for us. That will probably be it (at 20 degrees) until March.

Yes, but my house is cold in the evening so it's lovely and warm when the heating comes on. However, in the morning it's like a sauna. Hubby and I have lots of disagreements as to the right temperature as we have different body temperatures!

Not in our house, we probably won't get turn it on until Dec or Jan, and then rarely use it. In the mean time we get by with a "pot belly" stove in the family room which we may start using after Thanksgiving.
