my sister moving into an apartment and refrigerator has rust spots what is the best way to clean

You can try wd40. The best thing to do is take a piece of sand paper to the rusted spots and spray it with the color that matches the refrigerator. I had rust spots on mine from putting magnets on it and that is what I did.Worked for me.

Clean with old stiff toothbrush and rust remover. Then you can buy some paint that is made esp. for appliances to get the best look. If you cannot or dont want to paint the refridgerator then take a wax based car wax and buff it into the now clean rusted spots. Put a good coating on it and it should not rust again.
