Of course they dont. Real Republicans like Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln would have never dreamed of pushing a moral agenda. The origional idea of the Republican party is that the government should not interfere with the peoples rights (this includes moral descisions) except where it infringes upon other peoples rights.
I maintain that the people in office right now do not represent real Republicans either. There are more ways that they step away from the traditional republican party than just pushing a moral agenda, but that is the biggest offender, I think. Theres something wrong when a Republican has vetoed less spending bills than the Democrat who was in office before him, for example. The Republican party was also founded on conservative fiscal values, which means the government should be doing the least amount of spending possible.
Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly are editorialists, and there is nothing wrong with that. But it disturbs me, as a military journalist, that they are often referred to as journalists. Editorialism and journalism are not the same thing, and they are meant to acheive very different goals.
It also disturbs me that they call themselves Republicans while they are pushing this neo-conservative jargon. There is nothing wrong with being a neo-conservative if the ideals of it appeal to you, but dont try to call it something that it isn't to try to sound like your ideas are more mainstream. If they are too ashamed of what they really are to call themselves by their proper title, then maybe they should rethink the platform they are standing on.

Rush is a conservative comentator who does support the Republican Party more than the other. O'Reilly is neither Republican nor Democrat and, as a regular viewer, I have heard his criticize both sides equally. I think the problem that most liberals have with O'Reilly is that he casts the hard light of day on their fantasies. When anyone starts telling tales and making excuses that just don't add up, Bill calls them on it. The biggest difference in the response is that the liberals just don't get it and think that they can fib their way through anything as long as their fibs bolster their wacky assertions.

I think Rush does...don't watch O'Reilly. Have been listening to Rush for a steady 5 years and did watch his tv show long time ago...he always articulates what I am thinking..and brings a unique perspective because he has been doing this for so long...

I hope not. I've met tons of very kind republicans that cringe at some of the things rush and bill say. I don't really think of them as repuclicans as much as just plain ignorant jerks. I mean did you hear what rush said about Michael J.Fox?

Nope. They're far-right conservatives.
Do Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan represent the true Democratic mindset? I hope not, and I don't think so.
