A test will only show a positive result if you have enough of the pregnancy hormone (HCG) in your urine - with some tests (First Response, for example), you can get an answer 3 days before your period is due.

Don't quite understand what you mean by "monthly pill" however - is this a pill taken on a daily basis for 21 days with a 7 day break or is it a pill you take once a month.

Best advice would be to wait one more week and go to your GP

You need to work out where you are in your cycle (regardless of not having periods). Then you should work out when your next period would have been. Nowadays you can get some pregnancy tests that will be able to detect low amounts of the pregnancy hormone as early as four or five days before your missed period, but most recommend you to wait at least a week or so after your missed period. Also remember that if you miss a pill, you should use additional contraception for seven days, in order to ensure total reliability.

Most tests u should be able to tell now. I found out within days I was pregnant. Best bet is go buy the store brand test in a pack of 3. If the first 1 dont confirm use 1 every couple days. If the 3 dont show anything then you prolly arent pregnant. I know its scary not knowing.Good Luck. Hope its what you want. I got pregnant when I shouldnt have been able to. According to the doctors I was 2 weeks earlier then when i could have gottin pregnant. So even on the pill if you miss 1 you can get pregnant it happened to me.

The possibility that you may be pregnant is probably 10% if that i would wait another 3 week before doing a test, if you do one get the clear blue one i believe its most accurate. In your pill leaflet it will tell you that 7 days after the missed pill you are not protected so you may just be lucky this time. hope everything is ok. x

As far as I'm aware, the most sensitive test can pick up the human pregnancy hormone 4 days before your period is due. Read the labels when you are buying the test, as some are more sensitive than others. Call NHS Direct for further advice (0845 46 47). They are very good, and someone will call you back to discuss your concerns in more detail.

dont worry too much, missing one pill in the middle of the pack will not lead to loss of protection, so you should be fine. BUT do ring NHS Direct for more advice.

Most Pregnancy tests cannot detect the pregnancy hormone until the day your period is due. Results will be unreliable before then.

Wrong question maybe, if this wasn't a planned conception maybe you should be finding out where to get the morning after pill or other such help. Babies are the MOST wonderful thing in the world but only when you are ready, financially and emotionally. Stay safe and good luck

Nope. It had to have been from yet another sexual bump into or she has her dates incorrect. as quickly as the sperm and the egg meet,it takes type of 5-7 days to shuttle down the fallopian tube and restoration itself to the uterine wall. So there is not any logical way that her physique replaced into able to supply sufficient hgc(being pregnant hormone) this quickly to tutor a being pregnant attempt useful. however the attempt is useful,so she desires to make a doctor's appointment to make certain her and the toddler are ok.

you can buy tests that can confirm a pregnancy before a period is due. either ask at your local chemist, or if you go to your doctors they can do a blood test to confirm-may take a couple of days to come back. good luck
