Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Thursday that anyone demanding deadlines for progress in Iraq should "just back off," because it is too difficult to predict when Iraqis will resume control of their country.
How can this country heal when the dagger is still in?
Remove the FOREIGN body first and let it heal. It will bleed yes, it will hurt yes, but eventually it will heal.

The Iraqis have shown great leadership in taking over their country.
They have a 300,000 man army, with modern weapons, and training. They control all their own gov't agencies, like roads, schools, health,. etc.
The Iraqis can run their own nation again, thanks to US help.

We should have made Connie rice the president of Iraq, I mean if you invade another country, you should have the balls to control it, our losses compared to the Iraq's is a small price to the right to all the oil we need to stabilizes the control of the treat of high energy cost, it's to our benefit that we stay in Iraq until the oil is no more, we the tax payers pay to have services like the military and our young and old military personnel accepted that challenge when they signed the contract, I for one am very proud of our military, and Bumfeild is at time a little wacky he is still the presidents favorite, think if we pull out now, then it would be for not, we need that oil and if you think we don't then think again

You are right. I have all along advocated that as long as American forces are on Iraqi soil there will be no peace at all. You hit the nail on the head when you said pull the dagger out and the wounds will heal.
