I know I sound silly, but my husband and I couldn't afford a full size xmas tree for the first couple of years we were together. He got a much better job and now we have went ahead and bought the tree and all the ornaments. We have a 6.5 mth old and we are excited to celebrate it with him. We are both very attached to christmas memories of our childhood and really enjoy that time of year, so it was quite hard not to have all the decorations and stuff for those couple years. We feel like we are justified in decorating because of this reason.

The tree can be seen from outside at night. Will our neighbours think we are crazy? Are we?

(Please no answers of "who cares what others think", I know this but would still like to know what others think)

My boyfriend put his up a few days ago, him and his parents always do all of their christmas decorations on November 1st. A few years ago my parents and I were doing our outside Christmas lights on Halloween night because it was nicer weather than waiting another month or so, we didn't turn them on until later in the month thought. Anyway, I know a lot of people who put their tree up the beginning of November, and since you haven't been able to have one for a few years why not enjoy it longer? Plus you have a young child who is celebrating his first Christmas, I'm sure your neighbors will understand that with the holiday season time becomes very busy so why not put it up before your busy with holiday shopping, family get togethers etc.? I'm sorry this is so long.. :) Have a very Merry Christmas!

I would suggest that this is rather early for the Christmas tree. Putting it up too early takes away the anticipation, the delayed gratification. Your 6 month old child does not know the difference anyway.

We put our tree up after Thanksgiving dinner, plenty of time to enjoy it without getting bored or tired of the whole thing of Christmas.

Be sure to keep Christ the center of your Christmas celebrations, that will help you keep perspective on the meaning and value of the Season. Maybe an Advent Calendar to count down the last month before the day.

My Dad could not wait for Christmas Day to get here, he always wanted to open the presents on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day; but then he had terrible let down Christmas Day because the mystery and anticipation were gone, and Christmas was more of a day given to football and less about worship, family, and celebration.

I've heard that a lot of people put a tree up about November 1st. Do what you want and if the neighbors say anything just tell them you're crazy...about Christmas.

I think it is too early. You are going to be a bit jaded by the time Xmas rolls around. It is better to wait and have a tree trimming event at the beginning of December.

It's only once a year, so enjoy it as long as you can. It wouldn't bother me.

You will have that done, and have more time for all the other things you will have to do for Christmas.

Going to do something different this year and placed mine up after Thanksgiving. I in basic terms want to do it early this year. in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is as a lot because the guy as to even as they want to commence adorning.

No, it's not crazy at all. Christmas is only less than a couple of months away.

most people wait until after thanksgiving (assuming you're american). your neighbors may think it's odd if you put one up so early. but, if it makes you happy i would go for it.
