When you're tested for cocaine, they do not look for cocaine. The name of the metabolite they look for is banzalqualone.I'm not allowed to post links but do a search for that word and things that may make it show up in your blood stream.Poppy seeds are supposed to make you test positive for opiates but that's a myth.
Try doing a search for metabolites of cocaine use or something similar. It may give you some more information.
Ask to be rescreened or for a more thorough form of testing.Gas chromtagraph mass spetrometry is definitely the most accurate but also the most costly. If there is a financial loss at stake or something similar you may be able to contact your state for legal aid. They will have the proper testing done if you qualify.Good luck with that. You are not the first person to have this happen.
Edit:I'm on topical lidocaine 3% delivered through an acidic vehicle.I have never tested positive for cocaine.I'm a competitive powerlifter and coke is one of many banned substances I'm tested for.USAPL uses the IOC doping guidelines.

Some of the other posters explained better than I could. I just want to add that nearly all tests carry a risk of false-positives, including HIV.
I also wanted to answer the question of another poster, why would they test you unless you were a user? Well, all they have to do is suspect. I had asked my doctor if mild marijuana use (like one drag) in early pregnancy would affect the baby, and he said 'no'. But he saw that as a red flag for me being a drug user, and ordered a full barrage of drug tests on me, without my knowledge and therefore without my consent (and which I paid for.) When they took my blood, I assumed it was for things like the HIV test (which for some reason I *was* required to give consent for.) When I got my records a couple of years later, I couldn't believe it. There were things that I was tested for that I've never even heard of. Thankfully, there were no false-positives. It really drove home to me, though, that whatever notion I had that this was a respectful partnership in my care was illusory.

These substances/conditions WILL cause a false positive result for cocaine:
antibiotic Amoxicillin , local anesthesia (which is what cocaine is, but illegal) , Liccaine patches, Lidocaine viscous solution, kidney infection (kidney disease), liver infection (liver disease), Diabetes, tonic water.
You are prego, so I don't know if any of this could apply to you. People say it can't happen, but I know it can!! Ignore stupid people that don't believe you. I hope you find this info helpful!!!
and best of luck to you & take care!

Poppy Seeds Cause False - Positive Drug Test Results:
"False positives in drug testing are common. Jolt Cola, poppy seeds and some legally available medicines can trigger a positive result. Increased punitiveness will not solve the problems associated with drug use. Jailing, stigmatizing and depriving people of subsistence will not decrease drug abuse."
DON'T CONDITION WELFARE ON DRUG TESTS
From: Buffalo News: August 14, 1997
Upon further investigation, I have uncovered further information regarding the matter of poppy seed and false-positive drug testing results. The Food and Drug Administration has an article on their site regarding the eating of poppy seeds and false-positive drug tests. (See page 25: "Poppy seeds contain morphine. And they will trigger a positive test on a urine test.")
The Urban Legend site has several cases concerning these false positive tests documented. (Search words drug test will bring you to the articles)
It is simply amazing as to how many reports of false-positive drug tests are available, and as to how many lives have been ruined by these test results; yet, the system keeps on testing. Sometimes I think that drug testing is just another means to get around at-will dismissal with no lawsuit attached.
"A trusted employee who held keys and alarm access to her store tests positive for drugs, so he's terminated. Would she have fired him for using Primatine for asthma? If he had used Actifed, Benadryl, Contac or Nyquil? How about Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Alka-Seltzer, Robitussin or Sucrets? Of if he had eaten a poppy-seed muffin? "
''No,'' you say? Well, she very well may have. Every item listed above and over 2,000 more will cause a false positive on a drug test. Would a better employee drink four shots of whiskey at lunch, chain smoke three packs of cigarettes a day and drop two tabs of LSD at night? A person using these substances will pass a drug test with flying colors. In fact, she may have hired someone just like this to replace her so-called ''trusted employee,'' so how does drug testing make any sense? "

Did you smoke weed, or do other drugs that could have been laced with crack or coke? This happens more than people know. I know that some dealers will occasionally do this to keep the clients buying from them.
