I want to start fresh, delete as much stuff as I can so that I just have the main programs in it

I would back up all of your important files onto a cd (or any other way you have to save files.) Reformat your hard drive (with windows boot disk.) Then I would reinstall windows and any other important software you may have. If you do this it will run like new. Good luck
