It is a simple easy procedure and other than being a little sore for a few days it is some thing you should have if you don’t want to father any children any more. It is an office procedure and the physician will give you a local anesthetic and he will make tiny incisions in the scrotum and cut the tubes that go from the testicles to the urethra. Success rate is very high.

Most insurance cover this procedure. Make sure you are of the mind set that you do not want to have any more children because you can have it reversed later on but insurance rarely covers it and the success of reversal is lower than the success of the vasectomy.

I had the op after our second child, it was painful after but that soon left.
I did it as my wife and I decided not to have any more children and this is the most effective form of contraception without using messy condoms or the pill or the likes.
I still produce a fluid when I ejaculate, like normal, it just doesn't contain any "tadpoles".
If you consider its a risk to your male ego then don't do it, I did it because I love my wife and it was the safest form of contraception without complications
Its your decision to make, but personally, I would recommend it.>
