first of all this question does not reflect my opinions on gay people at all.
i just wondered how would u react if somebody said this to u.
my granmother is the most homophobic person i know.
she claims two things. one which is absoulutly rediculous, the other which can make one wonder.
first thing she said to me yesterday was an argument agains the fact that gays are naturally born like that. why is this that there are more gays now then in the past and especially in britain. and another very rediculouse thing was that since there are so many gays many girls will stay without husbands XD
second point was to prove that it is not natural, she claimed that nature, or "god" made epole in order to breed and continue life on this planet, and since to males or two females aren't capable then it is not by rules of nature.

ok those were the two things she argues, i just want to know what u would say about that. and just to remind u, these are not my opinions at all, i support gays

First of all, I should let you know that I am probably older than your grandma. I am also a grandad to 10 and a great grandad to 2. I am also a gay man.
Your grandmother's generation finds it difficult to accept that there were just as many gays in her days as there are now. The main difference was that it wasn't discussed back then. It was never mentioned in school, at home nor in the church. 95% of homosexuals remained in the closet because of the shame and fear of being found out. That is why many of us got married because that was what was expected of us and we thought that getting married would cure us of our attraction to other men.
I realize when I look back, that I was attracted to other guys from the time I reached puberty but deep down I knew I had to suppress the feeling because none of my buddies seem to have the same thoughts and I didn't want to be called 'pansy' or 'momma's boy'. (The terms 'gay' or 'queer' were not used until the 50's.) I got married like I was supposed to and lived in fear of being exposed fpr 22 years. I finally had to accept the fact and came out to my family in the early 70's when gays were starting to open closet doors all across North America.
Your grandmother's claim about homosexuality being unnatural is also common for her generation and you will probably never get her to change her opinion. Whether those who think this way like it or not, I can tell you without any doubt, that I and every other gay man or lesbian, was born that way. No one 'chooses' to be gay - but often it takes a long time before they 'choose' to acknowledge the fact. There appears to be many more gays and lesbians now only because they feel more comfortable to come out and be recognized.
Tell your grandmother, that ROQ (Retired Old Queen) says hello.

There may not be more gays then before, it may be that it is so much safer for them to come out and be in public. This world is not the world it used to be and being gay is far more accepted then ever before. Therefore people are more out and in the open hence more visible. Years ago they use to hide pregnant women because it was shameful to let others see, due to the fact that others would know what they had done! Same with the gays, now it's accepted so here we are!

God made every being on this earth, many heteros cant have children, sterile, barren, and many choose not to. There will always be heteros as there will always be gays. Gays can have children and do all the time so that argument is not even valid.

the first comment she made is true, they were born that way, do you think gay people would choose to pick a life that is going to cause them to be criticised everytime they walk down the street? No.
I feel sorry for them having to put up with such hatred from ignorant people. I am not gay myself, but i know what they have to deal with. As far as every man being gay, thats rediculous! God created everyone the way they are. How they are looked upon is a choice, i choose not to be judgemental towards anyone.

You're everything that most gay men (and, truthfully, quite a few "straight" men) find irresistible in a man: mid-twenties, muscular, masculine (even heroic), with a hairy chest, and (though you don't mention it) an adorable, round, perky, fuzzy little butt. Being Australian, you're even uncircumcised. If you were of Italian descent (with dark, flashing eyes and a noble profile), I'd renounce my American citizenship to help you fight fires Down Under.

more gays now because they are more open to coming out, the genuine gays are born that way, i have no doubt about it, there are some gays that are unsure, and then there are the gays that are doing it to be fashionable or draw attention to themselves, these are the ones making it hard for the gays that are born gay.
Secondly yeah sure to gays cannot reproduce, but in all honesty why would you want to bring a child into this world??? Maybe we have gays to slow the population down, maybe china should be made aware of this!!!! GO THE GAYS.

First, gay men and women ARE born that way....God created all of us, and he doesn"t make mistakes! Second, there aren't any more gay people now than there used to be, regardless of what country you may be in, it's the fact that gay people are sick and tired of hiding and we're standing up for our rights as human beings. Bless your grandmother, I know she has a good heart in spite of what she thinks about gay men and women.

As to the first, I think it's pretty obvious that as more poeple come out, even more closeted people feel that they are able to come out. There's not "more" (proportionally speaking); it's just that more people know about it. As for breeding: we're in NO danger of underpopulation. In fact, the exact opposite is true. I like to think I'm "doing my part" to balance out the overpopulation problem. Also: if you think that your sole purpose in life is to breed and create offspring: that's pretty depressing. Coming from your grandma, too, it should mean she may as well be forcefully euthanized once she's past menopause.

There are not more homosexuals they just have more of them that are out because society allows them to more freely now than in the past. The number has not went up except due to population we just have more options to live as ourselves naturally.
