Bad Cluster... First of all copy ur data to safe plce in any other machine then
**If u r using segate model hard disk then try DM (disk manger) use Lower level Fromat
**it u r using any other brand then use any external software for bad sector recovery.

Now Pls make sure that u have bad cluster or bad sectors... because bad sectors can be easily removed as soon a you deparite our partition of drive u will see all bad sectors are repared but if is bad cluster then u must go for Lower Level Formatiing. its recovery process intailly in p2-p3 motherboard in BIOS u will see option of Lower Leve Formatting.

regards.

What version of windows are you running? While running defrag there should be a setting to fix bad clusters which means that the operating system will scratch out those areas so you won't be writing on them any more, which means the bad clusters are "fixed". I've had a desktop computer that went chugging along for years with bad clusters.
