My daughter just bought her very first laptop. She is in Naval school, just graduated basic training. She was so proud of herself, able to buy it on her own, with her own money! She had an accident this morning, and it fell on the floor. It seems the monitor is the part broken. Being on base, no car, funds low, does anyone have any suggestions? I told her to ask around to see if there are any computer techs on base who might help. I thought maybe finding a computer repair shop in her area, and make the connection. She is just so upset right now, she cannot think of any solutions. It was her only outlet to connect with family and friends on her "off time". I know it sounds grim, but does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks for your time!

i fully appreciate your & her feelings

a broken monitor may take a lot to repair
ask for estimates anyway !

nope, i would'nt suggest buying accident coverage unless it's a high end stuff

best way for consolation would be you order & pay for the notebook & tell her it's a present or a soft loan, whichever way she feels comfortable > that part you know best
> a pretty decent one should be within $ 650

lemme know if i can help u in deciding !

She should have a warranty on the laptop. How long has she had it. Maybe she can make something up and have the warranty take care of it. I beleive they come with a 1 year. Since here funds are low she probably didn't purchase the extra warranty but it is worth looking into.
