A skating party is a great idea! My younger sister thoroughly enjoyed her party at a skating rink, as did her friends. It's best to pick a skating rink that has a decent sized video arcade, in case some of her friends can't or don't like to skate. Also make sure the actual party area you are assigned is of decent size. You can always bring your own activities also so it's not just regulated to skating.

Contact the local methodist youth fellowship group, or any other denomination for that matter, they have people of good character, and it could be a surprise party.

My kids love it when I offer them the money I would normally spend on a party for a shopping spree or to save........ then there's usually a trip to the mall with a friend.......
