Unfortunately we live in a world of prejudice. I'm not an attorney, but I do believe it would be is important that your husband take copious notes at the meeting, including who says what....etc. Would it be possible for him to tape record the meeting? Surely his former employer would want evidence of what is said at the meeting too. Your husband should write down his recollection of the events now while his memory is still fresh. I'm not sure if it would be possible for you to retain a lawyer at this late hour, but it certainly wouldn't hurt you to have legal representation before/during the meeting.

If your husband is a good hard worker and if he didn't take the wallet, AND if he believes that the black workers were fired because of their race, then I believe he should pursue his rights (after he understands the downfall to filing suit). If there is no other common denominator between the guards who were let go, that seems pretty blatant.

Firing someone just because they are black is no different from firing someong because they are a woman, because they are Christian, because they are ____________ - you fill in the blank. It's wrong.

Don't be afraid to pursue your rights. Our society only gets better by those willing to make a stand to make it better. Just talk to an attorney experienced in this type of matter so that you fully understand your rights and the possible downfall of filing suit. You can check with the ACLU and they can steer you in the right direction for representation.

GOOD LUCK.

Even though it is a bum deal that is how non union jobs go, employers can fire you cause you have bad breath.
You might try suing for wrongful termination, especially since he is under a cloud of theft.
This could make it very hard for him to find another job.
If you can not afford an attorney try legal aid.
Cause this could ruin his career.
No one will hire a security guard that was fired under a cloud of wrong doing. (Theft)
Maybe he should offer to take a lie detector test about the theft.
HE COULD CLEAR HIMSELF.

This sounds grossly unfair. I am truly sorry that your husband was made a scape-goat.

Try the ACLU or the Legal Aid Society.

Good Luck!
