To erase search history (AutoComplete forms history) in Internet Explorer:
• Select "Tools" then "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Click the "AutoComplete" button.
• Click the "Clear forms" button to erase all AutoComplete form data and/or click the "Clear Passwords" to delete restored passwords.
Also you can erase search history using Clear All History "Clear browser history" feature for Internet Explorer.

To erase Google search history you should erase search history in the Google Toolbar and erase browser history.

rasing search history from the Google Toolbar (Google Toolbar Search History):
• Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
• Select the "Clear Search History" option. This will erase all the previous searches from the drop-down box.
This only erases search history from the Google Toolbar, which is entirely separated from the search history stored by your browser. To completely erase search history you should also erase browser history.

Here's what you need to do:

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options

In there, click on Clear History. After that is done. Click on Delete Files, and make sure the "Delete all offline content" box is checked, and click OK. Then, I would even clear your Cookies too. You can do that by clicking, Delete Cookies.

Also, right-click on Start and click on Properties. Make sure the Start Menu tab (and bullet) is selected, and click on Customize. Under Programs, click on Clear List, and set the "Number of Programs on Start Menu" to 0.

Then click on the Advanced tab. At the bottom, click on Clear List, under Recent Documents. And then UNcheck that box, if you don't want them listed anymore.

This does not guarantee, however, that you got everything. Some things get logged, and to really ensure that you got everything, you can get a product like Windows Washer.

Cheers,

Dan

My answer: I'm also dubious that you have other things to hide from the Internet search history from your wife. So, I need to focus here to help you out. If you are using Firefox browser, then the steps are, (1) click on 'Tools' on the standard menu bar, (2) click 'options' from the pop-down menu, (3) click on 'Privacy' among the tabs lined up at the top, (4) click on 'History', (5) click on 'Clear Browsing History Now' and you are save for the last session you've been visiting. If you are using the Internet Explorer, then the steps are, (1) click on 'Tools' on the standard menu bar, (2) click 'Internet Options' from the pop-down menu, (3) click on 'General' among he tabs lined up at the top, (4) click on 'Clear History', and you are save for the last session you've been visiting. Hope it helps.

Try going to "Tools" on the menu bar, and in the "General" tab look down at until you find "Browsing History" click "DELETE" and if you want to clear forms and the URL (address)... Try going to "Tools" on the menu bar, click "Internet Options", then go to the "Content" tab and look down where it says, "AutoComplete " click the "Settings" button next to that, and select all the options you want to clear and then click "OK"

Good Luck!!
