The emegenecy brakes work off of the rear brakes. So the stiffness is not due to the frt brakes and rotor replacements. Perhaps they adjusted the rear brakes or the emergency brake cable and over did it. If you are not sure if the noise if from your brakes or something else, take it back to the shop. Reputable shops stand behind their work, and it could be one of several other things dependent of what vehicle you have, including a wheel bearing, a CV joint, power steering, engine noice, or brakes.

As for you emergency brake lever, it is quite possible that the rear emergency brake cables are frozen, if you only did the front brakes and not the rears then check your service receipt and see if the service station adjusted your emergency brake cables as well.
As for the noise you hear up front while the car is in motion, theres a good chance the backing plates were bent (especially if they had to hammer off your old rotors) and scraping on the front rotor. Have someone walk along the side of the car while you slowly drive forward and see which side is making the noise, then look under the car and see if you can see anything bent into the brake rotors.

Drive with one foot on the brake and one on the gas for about 100 to 200 yrds. It will help set the new pads to the new rotors. As far as the Emergency brake. the cable could need lubrication,
The cable could have been over tightened if it was adjusted.
The rear brakes could have a broken piece or piece installed wrong.
Putting the year make and model would have been nice so we could see how old the car is.
The cable under the car may have gotten caught in something and is binding. Does the emergency brake work when you pull it at all?

Lot of variables here. Emergency brake could be on front, doubtful though. If new noise is slight squeaking it's the rotors and brake pads adjusting to each other. Get car up to around 20 mph (in large parking lot) and put on brakes hard. If it doesn't pull to one side, flip over or any other nastiness, brakes are fine. Otherwise take back to servicing mechanic to fix. Don't let them BS you into extra charge. You paid for a correct brake job !

You didnt say anything about rear brakes,so I am assuming that you came in with a low/soft brake pedal and maybe noisey front brakes. chances are that they adjusted the E Brake to pull the shoes tighter to the drums, when the rear brakes should have been adjusted themselves.as for the noise in the front brakes this could be improper parts, misinstalled parts, or bent dust shields on the back of the rotors. In any case take it back to them, As this is your and your families safety at Extreme Risk

Well the emergency breaks have nothing to do with the front breaks.
It depends on what type of noise, on disk breaks some will squeak when the break is applied other than that, it may be a wheel nut in the hub cap, or wheel bearing, bring it back to the shop and ask them about it,

Could be, and they're breaking in, Trying push down on the brakes hard see if it gets rid of the squeal. If the noise persists take it back. The emergency brake cable should be kind of stiff but not to hard. Did they adjust it? If they didn't you should have them check it out. It might be the emergency brake shoes.
