My EX Wife got the house and the 2nd Mortgage that came with it. She was supposed to refinance and remove my name from the title but could not qualify for refinancing so my name is still attached to both the mortgages (1st and 2nd). Now I find out that she hasn't paid the 2nd mortgage in 4 months. Last year she stopped paying the 1st mortgage and I had to catch that up as well. This is financial blackmail. What can I do to either get my name off the mortgages or get the home put back in my name only? Do I have any other options (legal options)? The court system seems like it cannot do anything to enforce what people agree to.

Thanks for the replies....Currently her support money goes to the First Mortgage. If I pay both it's about 400.00 over what the support is. I heard of contempt but it really means nothing, she just ignores it anyway. In the end they won't do **** to her and I'm screwed anyway...

Yes I contated both lenders they pretty much told me to pound sand. One thing I learned is all that "Let us know and we can help" line is BS. What they really want to do is put a ton of pressure on you to make sure they get thier money.

She is in contempt, you need to get an attorney

Have you tried contacting your lender(s)? They might be more helpful than Yahoo Answers and definitely cheaper than an attorney.
