SAP is an Enterprise Resource Planning Package which in an environment for managing for the complete resources within an organisation.
There are lot of variations of SAP and each package is a customized solution for the particular organization. It can be used in different verticals such as Manufacturing, Retails, Insurance, etc.
It is integrated with every aspect of the company, for example for a manufacturing company, it will keep records of amount of raw material in use, in store and required. It will have details of all manufacturing processes and help to optimize processes, manage inventory of finished products, give estimate future requirement of raw material and sales.
