Preppy is just a style, think country clubs and girls named Muffy. The concept of preppy has become so muddled lately, it's not supposed to mean mainstream, it's just a fashion.

If you want to 'go prep'... then start wearing v-neck sweaters, tennis skirts, khakis, wear things that have argyle or gingham patterns, be very clean cut.

But I'm guessing that's not what you really mean. If you meant, 'are these items popular?', then yes; I see them around a lot.... and if you like them, buy them.
