Sex is far too advertised in the media. It's not an excuse, but sex sells, so it was always going to escalate to this level. I think it does encourage younger girls to dress and act more provocatively, but provocation isn't what causes pregnancy, it's not using a flippin' condom. Ridding the media of music videos, or even all things sexual, wouldn't, in my opinion, stop teen pregnacies, it probably wouldn't even be a good thing as then you'd have the whole issue of sexual repression, hence leading the kiddies to not talk about it and therefore not be aware of the issues ... like the flippin' condoms!
Basically, i think bad parenting and a lousy sex education programme is to blame. But parenting is the main problem; there's simply too many people out there having kids that aren't fit. Pregnant teenagers and crazy youths are only a product of the problem, not the problem itself.
In conclusion Music Video = Sexy and good, Parents = Not Sexy and Bad.

why is that everything in this world is bad for you??
mobile phones give give you cancer and now a tv's not only gives a murderer an excuse, 'oh i saw it on telly' but they also get teens pregnant??? WOW
i gotta say i first fell pregnant at 18, and miscarried but i can assure you i wasnt watching telly at the time.
all children experiment and some females grow up a lot faster than boys and become maternal a lot sooner than boys but this should not be blamed on tv and neither should the murder cases be as the murderer obviously has something very wrong mentally in the first place to be able to carry out such a crime regardless of watching telly and the teen pregnancy thing, teens are not as stupid as they make out nowadays and they sure to hell know how to make babies so therefore they will do it anyway if thats what they want, having seen it or telly or not.

No, its the lack of sexual education in schools that lead to teenage pregnancy's and the fact that the government makes it so easy for a teenage mother to support a child by giving them benefits and housing. If the government stopped subsidising teenage mothers then there would be a drop in teenage pregnancy's. Maybe if the effects of AIDS/HIV were shown on TV in the form of adverts encouraging safe sex, there would also be a decline in the UK's STD statistics...

People don't give teenagers enough credit, music videos don't lead to teenagers having sex. In every generation teenagers had sex, it just seems that this generation don't know too much about contraception!
Also to Fallen it's not just a schools responsibility to give sex education, it's ultimately the parents.

Could be but teen pregnancies have always existed in some segments of society, you would need to compare the increase (if any) with the increase in these music videos & then survey the teens to find out if they watched or listened to the music.

TV full stop put's thoughts in children's minds that shouldn't be there , before TV a child under 16 couldn't even contemplate murder now kids see it every single day and as is the way of things some are going to think "i could do that" and then in their innocence to young to separate fact from fiction set out to try .
All to often the victim and the perpetrate are both the victims of todays society .
If it can incite murder it can incite sex !
BAN TV !

Perhaps. It is natural to for teens to want to have sex, but to a point.
The videos could induce more lustful feelings and longings than is healthy for a teen to be subjected to.
Still, I submit that poor sex education in schools is a larger problem.

It probably does, but there are loads of factors. I mean when I was little I always thought that I was practically and adult, even when I was like 8, and I think that with us all trying to treat kids like adults it's all just backfiring. I mean we all (hopefully) think that thirteen, fourteen year olds having sex is absolutely disgusting because we all think of them as babies really, so if we just treat them like the kids that they are, hopefully they'll stop trying to act so big.

there's no doubt that the propaganda nowadays focuses on destorying relationships between people and tearing families apart... so young pregnancies is 1 of the ways they are using to destroy the community

i think its the lack of a realistic approach to sex education thats the problem..its all well and good telling kids to say no till they are married but thats as unrealistic now as it was 50 yrs ago! why dont the educators accept that kids wanna have sex and teach them in a realistic manner?(obviusly im talking about teens here not kiddies)
