This has been a battle I have been trying to beat for awhile. I have a dell inspiron 6000 that had been sold to me from a friend that had needed some money to help them out. This laptop has not been reported stolen, But with that situation That is all I know. Other than that I have no clue where my friend had gotten it, wether it be from a good or bad place. Or in a good or bad way. All I know is that its not stolen, But Once you turn it on, It asks for an administrative password. Which now has came to the area in which I need some help. I dont mind registering it in my name or anything like that if Thats what it is going to take, because I dont have any way of being able to know what that password may be, Is there any way to reset it so it has no p. word?!?!?! Or is there a way to bypass it?!?! Can anyone help plzplzplzplzpzl. It would be very much so appriciated. Thank you

ok since you told thare are faults in the pc here are few things to try.....
boot the comp in safe mode while booting press the key f8 and select safe mode and that will take to the real system adminstrator usually without password...
once logged in create a new user and start using that are you can reset the password for the one which u do not know the password.
other thing is if it is a xp do a repair install... of OS and it will break the password and create a new users...

se the password which is asking it can be for BIOS password.if it is bios password try to go in setup by hitting f2 on dell logo.and on the screen hit enter on clear log also on load defaults. If its asking for winxp administrative password & u dont have the password the answer will be to reinstall OS.There is a utility on dell computers called as Dell System Restore call up Dell and they will guide you do that. and one thing get ready to loose the data stored in the laptop bcoz the step will remove the data stored in laptop.
