I must admit to doing that several times a week. But the two I'll be recommending are perhaps the best candidates. Anytime you start a book at 9 or 10 at night that is 500+ pages long and you STILL can't put it down until you're done...is a very good book. For me, Stephenie Meyer is the best 'can't-put-down' author. Her books Twilight and New Moon held me captive.

I do the same for almost every book I read. The last book I did it with was Temple by Matthew Reilly, same guy who wrote Ice Station and Contest and Area 7. And several times with books by James Rollins also. Try both authors and you will be totally satisfied. Enjoy!

All the six Harry Potter books. I was up till 4 in the morning reading the last two, while hysterically crying as JK Rowling was killing off all my favorite characters.
Anyhooo...
I was up while reading the Da Vinci Code, Jefferey Archer short stories "A Quiver Full of Arrows" and "To Cut a long story short", "Kane and Abel", and "Shall we Tell the President".
Katherine Mansfield's collection of short stories kept me awake. Also, Jane Austen's novels, like "Pride and Prejudice", "Emma" and "Mansfield Park:". And ofcourse, Georgette Heyers romantic period pieces.
And "Love Story" by Erich Segal
I'll shaddup now...

The last book I stayed up for days trying to finish was Stephen Kings "The Green Mile." That book still makes me cry when I think about it. I've never seen the movie, because I don't want to ruin the image I have in my head. :)

Oh, yes! All the time. Most of the time there has to be some action, or a fast moving plot. However, I did that with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and it is neither, so I am not sure. I guessit just depends on how into the story you are.

I had the last quarter of "Harry Potter and the half blood prince" to read a couple of weeks ago, and it seemed so close to the ending (although it was probably 50 pages when I decided this), that I couldn't wait until the next day to finish reading it.

The first book I stayed up all night reading was The Count of Monte Cristo. I loved that book. Now I'm a big dork who stays up all night reading his textbooks.

I also do this with alot of books....the most recent being Ice Station by Matthew Reilly. This was so great I started at 7pm and finished at 4am. I couldn't put it done. HIGHLY recommend this book. It's like Die Hard on ice! Check it!!
