I would suggest dressing up as Carrie. You would need a long red wig though. she wore a fancy dress

Here is one idea for make it yourself...can be modified as needed
Last year I saw on the Martha Stewart show how they made a witches costume from black garbage bags and duct tape.
you need the drawstring bags. one they cut a slit in the area under the drawstrings so it was a bit longer and they cut ,in a zig zag, the bottom part of the bag off, that part is used for another part of the costume.
this one is for the top half of the costume. It is put on like a tube top with the drawstrings as the shoulder straps. pull and tie to fit.
don't worry about the strings coz they get covered later.
then another bag is cut to be the skirt, zig zag like the first and that is tied around the waist. Duct tape as much as needed to keep the top and bottom together.
they also cut a third bag in half to be the sleeves...they used duct tape to hold things in place. Just tape the sleves to the top.
the cut off parts are used to make the cape and they pulled on the zig zag points to stretch them.(also did on skirt)
It was pretty cool and waterproof but you may need scissors to cut the costume off when done.
I hope I explained enough for you to figure out how to do it.
a half dozen bags and tape are cheap especially if you already have them around
where you cut the zig zag depends on your size.
the sleeves bag is cut down the sides so one half the drawstring can be each sleve gather at the neck...
cut and fit the dress to size.
just add a hat and your good to go.

Go to charity shop and buy a couple of old sheets. Kick them around the floor a bit to 'age' them and then tear into strips 3 or 4 inches wide. Wrap them around your body head to foot. A bit of white and red face paint to complete the look. Hey presto a mummy!! My mate did this and looked excellent, especially when some of the bits unravelled as the night went on!!
*Don't forget to make sure you position the bandages so that you are still able to go to the loo!!*

Try an ogre - green face make-up and drag a top and gypsy style skirt through the mud allow to dry and belt using old rope - my daughter did this one last year based on Fiona from Shrek. It was really easy and cheap

If you have some skirts you can layer and a few silky scarves you can go as a gypsy - just add some wild make up and some clunky jewlery.
You could tease out your hair and wear slutty clothes and go as a chick from the 80's.

A black cat.
All you need is black trousers, shoes and long sleeve top. Or a full body black leotard. Then paint on wiskers etc with eyeliner and buy a 'cats ears' head piece (supermarket, Clintons cards, joke shop or somewhere like that.) Then for a tail all you need is a black sock or old tights, stuffed and pinned to your bum!
It even looks sexy!
