From India? why would you want to.
I just wrote an article about Why I'm proud to be an American. In the article I wrote about people, immigrants, coming here and being so thrilled to become Americans they even change their names.
You would be leaving your home Country adrift, with this I mean forfeiting the Country of your birth in a way. Are you sure you want this. Your children wouldn't have a Country to look back on.

What's in a name? keep your name, your father and his father carried it. We understand here, in America, that your not from here. Unless your name has a meaning that's embarrassing, cannot be written easily. My friend from Poland had 18 characters in his name. He was fourteen years old before he could spell it. Think about it.

You can keep ur surname as well as use both. The choice is urs. No prob will occur except perhaps ur in laws and husband won't like it. But then everyone has a right to do wat he wants.
