i suppose if it was really the "husband's" boyfriend under the veil, that would explain why they needed to stay hidden, if they didnt want a fatwa issuing against them for being gay by the more extremist elements of the community, especially if the guy under the veil was extremist himself.
there's nowt so queer as folk....

That's just so sad. Alot of cultures have that, you should of asked them, well if you both feel that she has to wear the vail to cover her face and he feels embarrsed then why are they with each other?
That's why society has to change. Everything has changed but having a women wear a vail for whatever reasons to not be seen with her husband and vise versa has just took things too far. If thats the way they feel about each other then they should leave each other. People miss out on the importance what were here for and the people we meet.

Women wear the veil to protect their modesty. Also commitment to their husband, if married. Husbands on the other hand have the freedom to anything, to thier fancy.
But I think there are other ways for women to dress it just makes them, look as though they are from a another planet.

This is actually for "kisskiss" (and, to expand on the idea altogether, here):
the "burka" is supposed to represent "modesty". So that other men will not lust after her and generate some wood (to use the words of Whoopi Goldberg, who is not a muslim).
In short, the muslim woman strips down to nothing in front of her man, within the walls of their own home: therefore, the burka seems to be saying that the woman is somehow responsible for a man's reaction to her body...ANY part of her body becomes erotic, if it is covered!!
So, in a weird way, they are lecherous pigs who cannot control themselves naturally: the woman has to make herself as ugly as possible, in public: lest the men turn into goat humpers, or some such thing.
Hey, I wouldn't put it past them to practice bestiality, (like that), anyway.
P.S: One Australian Muslim woman (not Aussie, orginally, but married one) said something like the above: she claimed that she was so HOT, she just HAD to keep herself all covered up, in public.
(Sounded like a closeted whore, to me)

To Larry_the_orc
you are so wrong, don't accuse the koan in things from your own mind or things based on lies. give me the sentence which u say that the Koran says its OK to kill, or rape.
you know what, it really hurts me to see people like you accusing my religion in things based on lies, and hate.
first of all the veil for the women in our religion is protect their beauty from pervs and other people.
Allah said in the Qur'an:
"Oh Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters, and wives and daughters of the believers, to extend their outer garments around themselves, so that they would be distinguished and not molested. And God is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful".
(Qur'an, 33:59)
We believe in ISLAM that females are jewels, so they r valuable. if u had a diamond would u leave it in public so everyone can touch it??? no u will cover it and protect it. We believe in Islam that women are the strong base of the society.
about raping, Allah (GOD) says that there is a big punishment for rapers waiting for them. it is not allowed to rape nor kill in Islam.
Allah said anyone who kills an innocent weapon less person he -Allah- would send him to hell.
Allah said unless u r not in a war or defending your self you are not allowed to kill. In the war you should only kill the armed persons with weapons and that's it.
SO Mr.Larry and anyone else
STOP SAYING LIES ABOUT ISLAM, read about the real ISLAM and then talk.
don't talk B.u.l.l. S.h.i.t

Interesting that both of them gave you answers that are not in the Koran.
Muslems believe that a correct woman is wearing her burka- its part of their belief system, similar to Christian women wearing long hair.
The Koran teaches its OK to rape, pillage and kill,,,,interesting how much easier it is to do these things when all you can tell the police is "I dunno, all I saw was a veil"!!
