lots of popular doggies: There was Asta, who starred in a few movies. And of course there was Rin Tin Tin, this super german shepard who did all sort of tricks on film; had his own tv show. And there was Bullet, Roy Rogers (the singing cowboy)' dog; made a few movies and had a big part in the old 50's tv show.
Now Lassie was played by 7 different dogs through the years, all male. And Lassie was a female dog part. Most of the cast also changed through the years on TV. June Lockheart, Timmy's mom and Lassie's mom sort of, played the mom the most. The strange part about the show was as she stayed over, they changed Timmy's and Timmy's dad and other family members..but June was still mom. Then she finally retired from the role.
