Kuchipudi is a traditional dance from the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Kuchipudi a dance form given to the Indian dance platform by a small village in the Andhra Pradesh. Kuchipudi is not mere a dance form but is combination of dance, gestures, speech and song. A Kuchipudi dancer has to to be well versed in dancing, acting, music, various languages and texts. Kuchipudi was born in a small village of Andhra Pradesh. There it developed as a tradition by the same name where it was born. Kuchipudi although now recognised as an independent dance form is related to Bharat Natyam. It was in the 17th century during the bhakti movement in the South India that Siddendra Yogi the formulator of the dance form selected some boys from the village to perform dance drama. Thus came the Kuchipudi in this world. In those days Kuchipudi was performed once in a year and the dance form was cautiously kept out of the reach of Devadasis. From the fist performers the technique and skills of this form got handed over the generations to acquire the present form. Some of the legendary performers and gurus were Kuchipudi Brahmins like Lakshmi Narayan Shastri and Chinta Krishna Murti who excelled in roles like Satyabhama in Bhamakalapam; later gurus include Vedantam Chinna Satyam.
Today both group performances and solo performances are popular but experimentation are always being done with the choreography. Kuchipudi is a dance a combination of movements of the whole body

Kuchipudi (కుచిపుడి) is a classical dance form from Andhra Pradesh, a state of South India. Kuchipudi is the name of a small village in the Divi Taluq of Krishna district that borders the Bay of Bengal and with resident Brahmins practising this traditional dance form, it acquired the present name.
With the dance form attaining perfection by the time of Golconda king Abdul Hassan Tanesha, Kuchipudi brahmins are said to have received 600 acres (2.4 km²) of land as an endowment from Tanesha for the great presentation before him.

Lets get real here. This is not about the people wanting separation, this is about the UPA government wanting to have more control over the MPs from the state. Having a strong contingent of 40 and having a leader like YSR has made them a force to reckon with. And Ms. Gandhi definitely doesn't like being forced to make decisions. So after YSR's demise, this is a planned strategy to split the ranks of the MPs from the state and take away power from them. That is the reason a party man like Rosiah was picked as Chief Minister over youngster and popular choice like Y.S.Jagan. So don't even for a second be fooled into thinking that KCR is the reason for the Telengana decision. He is just a pawn, the real reason is the power the MPs of this state are wielding at the center which is making 'madam' especially unhappy. If Telengana is separated despite all the opposition, then we will see a revolt from the people of the other regions. It is only the politicians and so called intellectuals who are talking about separate Greater Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra, not the students and common people who are only asking for unified Andhra. There is most certainly going to be a revolt here from the people of other regions in Hyderabad. Even before the separation of Telengana, the people here staying in their capital city are being termed 'settlers' and being threatened. How do you think the situation would be when there is a separate state and Hyderabad is a part of Telengana? The congress had clearly not reckoned on having to face the ire of common people, they must have thought the party MLA's and MP's can be very easily managed. Well this is a lesson for Ms.Gandhi, in democracy. Next time, she ought to listen to all parties involved before taking a decision, because this is not a fascist sate and she certainly can't make decisions based only on her whims and fancies and the political ambitions of a few vested interests and individuals.
