there are many different kind of wristwatches and some are simple toy made that dont have a changeable band.

In most case, yes, it is possible. Whether it is a metal bracelet or a leather strap, the band is usually held in by a spring bar (a stainless steel bar with a spring in the middle...good name for it!). Typically it is best to have a watchmaker or jeweler put these on. Usually if you purchase a band from someone they will install it for free. I know that one watch band manufacturer, Hadley Roma, makes a leather band that can be changed without any tools. You can have 10 different color bands for the same watch, and match them to whatever outfit/mood you have at that point. I hope this helps!

I reckon the answer is no.
Some watches are of one piece construction. You could cut it to change it and glue it on I suppose.
For your info I don't think band is the correct term.
Metal = Bracelet
Rubber/plastic/leather/fabirc etc. (anything but metal) = Strap
I may be wrong

Yes, even those that are one piece. You simply remove the movement and place it in another casing.
