between 2 people that have an unspoken attraction; the desire to want to have sex but don't. Both people feel this and continue the affection, the conversations, the time. Almost a lustful feeling. Everything but having actual intercourse.. That's my opinion.

There are two thoughts on the phrase "intimate relationship'.
Some people jump to sex as being an intimate relationship, but you can have sex with someone you just met and don't know.
An intimate relationship, in my book, is a relationship that you feel so comfortable in that you you can be your self, you cant tell your inner most secrets, and feel that you can share even your dark side with a person and not feel that they will be judgmental or run to the hills.

I took a class in college where the professor said that the root of the word "intimate" means a journey into the unknown. Some think that it is when you are being just physical with someone. I think that true intamacy is when you are so spiritually connected with someone that it doesn't matter wheather or not you are together because you feel complete just by knowing that person.

A close relationship that knows no equal. When your with someone and you feel like this is the place for you. You feel confortable, at ease. The world is at rest. Your at a place that has no equal. Your in love?
I can imagine it's been explained as "giddy" "high" "swooning" there are words that can describe it but, no words especially describe it best. An intimate relationship. In love.

two definitons of imtimate -- one involves sex the other involves intimacy --- which can include sex
intimacy is getting close emotionally intellectually spiritually with someone else --- telling them all about what has happened the highs the lows the good the bad --- the trivial the important -- intimacy is MUCH closer than sex --- you get in each others minds --- very powerful

Well, as a married woman.....(speaking for myself) I think it is when you and your husband can make love and can stare into eachother's eyes the whole time and at the same time feel this profound feeling of oneness...I love it when my husband and I make love that way...it confirms our union....and other times I love it when he can bang me silly (if you know what I mean).... =)
