four Indians won nobel of which 3 are indian citizens and 4th was U.S. citizen of Indian origin at the time of winnig award.
1- Rabindranath Tagor. [ for literature] from shantiniketan--now in west benagal.
2-Dr. C.V. Raman. [ for phisics] from tamil nadu...but was working in one science lab in kolkata when he got prize
3- Dr. Chanrdashekhar. [for physics] was from tamil nadu and was nefew of Dr. C.V. Raman...was from India but migrated to U. S. and was U.S. citizen when got prize.
4- Dr. A mrtya Sen. [for economics] from shantiniketan -west bengal and was professor in one of the U.S. universities when was awared prize but then and even now he is India citizen
