Pain in the lower abdomen is usually due to URINARY Tract infection & another one is an infection in the pelvic area.
I suggest that your urine be examined. There are cases of asymptomatic UTI, meaning they dont feel anything with their urination or usually present with lower abdominal pain. Collect midstream urine & have it examined in the laboratory.
Have you submitted yourself to yearly papsmear? It is usually done to sexually active female in their reproductive years. It is done to detect any infection & rule out cervical cancer.
Consult an OB-Gynecologist. Have your papsmear done at least 3 days after abtaining from sex, more or less, 2 weeks after menstruation .

first, assess whether the pain is originating from the reproductive area in your abdomen thus "shooting" inwards and ending up in your tailbone area of your lower spine. if that is the case, i experienced the same thing when i was around 27 years old (about 21 years ago). i went to my gen. practictioner who performed tests like a lower gi and an upper gi for the purpose of finding the pain's point of origin. it turned out that i had my appendix swollen and had to have surgery to remove my appendix. it wasn't "seriously" serious, but it was serious enough for me to plan to have the appendectomy by the following monday so i had time to prepare for surgery. prepping for surgery means no food or drink for 24 hours before surgery because of the anasthegiology medication that you have to have in order to undergo surgery. so, if i were you i would get a good nights rest and if it still swollen and painful when you wake up the next day, go see your doctor. keep in mind that that means no more beer, no aspirins or tylenols or anything at all except maybe water before you lay down to rest, okay? hope this helps you and good luck...submarelime@yahoo.comAKAmaryannregalado

Stomach pain or bellyache may be caused due to a problem in the organs in the abdominal region. The main organs in the abdomen are the digestive system consisting of the stomach, small and large intestines, the liver, the gall bladder , pancreas, the appendix and the kidney. Minor problems like gastroenteritis can cause severe pain, while fatal illnesses like cancer may cause only mild pain. I had very bad pain (tender) before and during my period and they were heavy (were not always this way) I would get puffy in stomach hurt to touch my pants didn't fit well.....anyway I went to the Dr. I had a cyst on my uterus (very common) had it removed and I have been fine.
I'm not saying this is what is wrong with you just an idea but I think you should see your obgyn Our bodies do change every 7 years (give or take a year) yours just my and now is different all your female organs

It really could be gas. Just because you haven't farted yet doesn't mean you won't, the gas is just moving through your system, and yes, that can be painful.
