Thats just a habit that a few people have, I do that too. Its just out of habit. If you talking about people right clicking on their desktop & pressing refresh. If you are talking about the webpage then, it is to check for changes in the page. Like to check new mails, etc. It practically has no effect on the PC's performance... hope this helps !

If people are on a page where information is being continuously updated or new information is being added then pressing refresh will update the page so that the new information is being displayed.

Example- in an email account in the inbox if you press refresh and you have received a new email, this will then be shown!!

It doesnt effect the performance, just the information that is being displayed.

Hey it doesnt have any effect on the performance...it usually refreshes the page so that you can get the updates without having to go outside the link and get back in....ppl do it when they're checking mails or are checking scores of any live matches...a few ppl do it when they're jobless or frustrated too!! LOL

The refresh key updates the website as pages can change within a few minutes.

It has no adverse affect on the performance.
