I think they're dangerous. They ruin reputations and CAn destroy lives by what they are doing. They must be imprisoned! hahaha....
seriously, I think they have nothing else to do, or they have too much spare time....
some have bad intentions...those who are determined to hurt others
And there are also some who have supposedly good intentions. When one talks about a friend to another friend...about her/his life to try to help.
Some even use gossip to get close to others. Maybe 2 gossipers befriend each other because they hate the same person.......or they feel that when they share secrets to someone it's a good thing.

I generally don't like gossipers. It seems they feel special by reporting other's activities. They also think they are solely privy to these items of information.
Rarely is gossip true, but occasionally it can be useful to listen to just to get a finger on the pulse of an organization/society.

Depends on what kind of gossip. People who are malicious and mean I have no time for. Funny gossip, like who's dating whom in the office is fine, as long as it's respectful...

actually this may sound weird, but I usually live in a ski town and if you have ever lived in a resort town you know that there is gossip everywhere and so much drama, and you know what it is great, I love it. It is fun to mix it up and stir the pot, get people pissed off, I realize it is immature but it is still fun

it depends on how you define gossip, some people think you are gossiping about them, whereas you are only concerned about them.
