Wow. Rita Dove's Thomas and Beulah
My thesis advisor, Mark Cox's, thirty seven years from the stone.
Anything by Lucille clifton
but particularly the poem
Wishes for sons
also
poem to my last period

I love Dickenson's
After great pain, a formal feeling comes

And a topper
James wright's
blessing
read it for the last line

Anything Mark Doty
I studied with him, too

Or by my mentor and dear friend who passed away last year
Bob Creeley
A master beyond words, but perhaps most dear
a poem he wrote for me just before he died
which at final thought I'll keep to myself
as Hayden Carruth said

"Why speak of the use
of poetry? Poetry
is what uses us.

read on.

For poem:

The Desiderata by Max Ermhan

Even just the first few lines are brilliant, as is the end:

"Go placidly amind the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence;

As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons....

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy"

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Most heart felt story I have ever read. But be prepared, it is sad yet bittersweet. It is very well written and keep you on your toes with plot twists.
