To make your bucket of goo - use flour, water, a tin of spaghetti, a pack of jully, green water colour paint (don't use food colouring it stains their hands) and mix it together in a big bucket. Put mini chocolate bars into it.
For games you can do apple bobbing (a bowl of water with apples - the children have to get an apple without sing their hands), you can tie hot cross buns, tea cakes or doughnuts to string and get the kids to eat them without using their hands.
Musical bumps, statues, chairs, etc. Or for a spooky element Musical monsters - where children have to do there scariest monster action (no noise or moving once in pose) when the music stops - noise or movement means theya re out.
If you are doing food, use food colouring to make it into freaky foods, blue food colouring with beans or hot dogs is good. Red food colouring in lemon or orange squash is also quite good.

PENNY SWEETS IN FLOUR - Ever played that before its great fun- got to get a sweet out using ur mouth.. make sure you put something down though cus could get abit messy..
APPLE BOBBING- The ultimate Halloween game thingy.. Uv got to do that on Halloween... :P
FIND THE PUMPKIN - Buy some small pumpkins or apples, hide them in the yard (or house :S) and let the kids find them. You can also tie sweets to them.. which makes it more fun for them.. then see how many they have found each - the person with the most wins...
Use a pin the tail on the donkey idea but with a Halloween theme... i.e - Pin the stem on the pumpkin
Pin the bromstick on the witch
Pin the tail on the cat
Pin the spider on the web
*You get the idea*
Uv so got me in the Halloween spirit lol... hope this helps a little bit... and hope the party goes off with a bang :-) x x

You Can do such things as:
Get a pumkin (of course) and other items to create the theme.
Light candles to create an eerie atmosphere.
Put a coin in a basin of water & see can anyone put their head in the basin and take out the coin with their teeth.
Get string and put it through the apple, hang on the top frame of the door and let it drop to a height that every1 can try and take a bite out of(easier said than done).
Get a real scary book.
Tell ghost stories.
Take them on a trail to a Cemetary...that will get the imaginations going!
Best of Luck :)

I remember going to a similar party at that age - one small room of the house was closed off with a curtain, a tiny little night light in the corner, a box with tissue paper etc in side with streamers etc covering up the opening and a 'beware of the monster' notice in ripped up cardboard - all very spooky.
The challenge was.... to find out what was in the box - by feeling it.
With us all scaring the life out of one another no-one found out!
My friend told me the next day that her mum had got a small teddy bear and covered a toy frog in cooking oil then put them in side by side!!!!
If any of us had managed to get up the courage to do it we would have had a shock anyway.
We really had fun that night. A few soft drinks some party food and things like apple bobbing in darkened rooms and running around outside as it was quite warm. I think we all acted like we were 5years old even though we were 14 & 15!!!

I would scrub the bones from chicken drumsticks & put them in the goo and olives for eyeballs. Get some haribo worms & put them into lime or orange jelly for a cheap party food.
A good game our kids enjoyed last halloween party was to give each a sheet - ask them to lie down & cover themselves completey. One person has to go around, prodding each sheet & asking "Can I wake the dead?". The person under the sheet says "Yes" but in a funny voice. The person has to guess who is under the sheet.

No need to make goo. Fill a basin with water and put it on the table with apples and grapes and make them try and lift them out by mouth. Another one is put an apple on a string and hang from the ceiling and see who can eat it.
