hey people ...can any one tell me which file or software to use to read the files sam and SECURITY? stored in the folder windows>sysytem>32>config?? ..... sam means security accounts manager n most probably its the file which contains my password for win xp .....my win xp password is lost ... most probably they r stored in any of these two files .....i have both 98 n xp installed ...i dunno wat to do to read the files.....in wordpad n notepad ...jus sm special characters appear...pls telll me how to search my xp password.....i llb really grateful to you ..... for this....

sorry, software for cracking passwords is not widely available and if you happen u find one (or think u did) its probably fake and a virus... so if you lost your passwords the easiest thing to do is to try to remember really hard till your eyes bleed or just restore xp
