How do I connect a bluetooth headset to my computer?
The headset is a vodaphone(service provider) bluetooth headset(of the over the ear variety) made for mobile phones(cell phones) by Plantronics. My computer has a bluetooth dongle in its USB drive, it has some very bad supplied software. I want to know how I can make the headset work as speakers and microphone for my computer. I have windows XP, but can I use it to controll the headset and USB dongle instead of the supplied software.
When I used the supplied software the headset just made a kind of assending tune. No techno-babble please

The software supplied has a function which is supposed to controll the headset, it does communicate but not in the way I want.

try this:-
switch on your bluetooth headset and search for the av-headset in your dongle software. if it detects the headset , you can configure easily by right clicking on the av-headset service.

I really don't think it's possible. There are bluetooth style headphones out there but the type of headset you are talking about is designed to only talk to a cellphone which is a lot more simple than a pc. Dongle is only really good for transferring data. Maplin are great for reasonably priced mic/headsets....
