There are two ways to answer it.
First:
Notice that the 1st no. is is actually 1 X 1 = 1
Notice that the 2nd no. is is actually 2 X 2 = 4
That goes the same for the rest. So, for the 6th number, 6 X 6 = 36

Second: A difference of 3, 5, 7, 9. So, the next number will be 25 + 11 = 36.

Answer: 36

easy

these are just the squares of the integers: 1*1=1, then 2*2=4, then 3*3=9, etc. So the next number would be 6*6=36

alternatively, you can notice that the difference between two sequential squares, is an odd integer, that grows by 2 each time: 1+3=4, 4+5=9, 9+7=16, etc. This would lead you to 25+11=36, same answer as above

The equation is of squares

(1,2,3,4,5,6) ^ 2 = 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36

So the next number in the sequence is 36

It is NOT 36.
It should be 40

1 4 9 16 25

Difference between 1 & 9 is 8. difference between 9 and 25 is 16.
that is 8 x 2

So, difference between 4 and 16 is 12. so the difference between 16 and the missing digit should be 12 x 2 = 24. It means you have to add 24 to 16.

It is 40

36. This is because the numbers come in a sequence of squares. For example:
1 squared=1x1=1, 2 squared=2x2=4, 3 squared=3x3=9,
4 squared=4x4=16, 5 squared=5x5=25, 6 squared=6x6=36, etc.

36, 49, 64, 81, etc..

The difference between the two numbers is increased by 2 every time you go to the next sequence.

i.e: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 73, etc.
____3_5_7_9_11_13_15_17___ etc
