It depends. If it's something important - then yes I would say it, but I would say it in a diplomatic manner, not to patronize or embarrass the other person.
If what they have said is incorrect but unimportant, I wouldn't say anything.
Diplomacy is all about knowing what's important, and how to vocalize your thoughts so that those you are speaking to can readily accept what you are saying without offence.

for an acquaintance i don't think it is right,becos u don't really know the person and has not actually discovered the way she reasons and if u must correct such a person it should be when both of u are alone.it is only a friend who u understand very well that should be corrected in the public ,becos u can predict his or her action.

Hell no,whats the fun in that.
You don't only embarrass your "friend",but more so yourself.
It is so rude:people will remember that more than the correcting your acquaintance.

nope.. i'd wait for the time that we'd be in a private place.. that's the time i would correct him/her.. it's bcoz my friends are a bit sensitive.. and they don't want to be embarrassed publicly...
