i can't find a freaking thing! I need an ambush organization drill sargeant! I can't afford an organizational coach or service, so what can I do on my own to rearrange my thinking/lifestyle?

I recommend flylady.net. Don't let all the cleaning talk scare you off. she's about a lot more than that. You can do it on your own but it's harder.

start small... organize what needs organizing the most, and focus only on that space. pick a new space to organize every week.

get a garbage bag and throw out old papers-- purge stuff you don't need. it's therapeutic to toss out the clutter... clears the mind also.

then get a box and fill it with things you havent looked at, worn or used in 2 years. give it to a charity or family, or have a garage sale. might as well make money on the clutter that is leaving the house.

your thinking should involve positive affirmations... tell yourself you ARE organized and the body and actions will follow.

i tend to get unorganized when something else in my life is out of whack, like lack of sleep for example. if you are unbalanced in one area, chances are it will show up in the clutter and disorganization in your life.

repetition
you must teach yourself to be organized
1. everything has a place and MUST always be in that place
2. teach yourself to to things in a certain order, and do your routine
in that order EVERY day!
O-Yes did I say everything has a place and MUST be in that place?
