I live in a small market down - that is about to be down graded to a village.
Behind my house is a large playing field that backs on to moorland, with canals, rivers and the railway lines running through them.
To the side and in front is farm land, which has lots of crops most of the year - so lots of hayfever.
To the other side is the village (town) which only takes a few minutes to walk back into country side.
It is nice and quiet but when I first moved here I was grieving the loss of my local Weatherspoons, and Kebab shop.
On the whole it is a very good place to live, I just wish the post office and doctors were open for longer.

I live in Clifton Village, Bristol. 'Village' is a misleading name, because it is actually collection of Georgian and early Victorian buildings reminiscent of Bath. John Betjeman described it as the best suburb in England, and I agree! The scenery is beautiful, lots of history and architecture (The famous suspension bridge over the Avon gorge is spectacular)
People on the whole are very friendly and pleasant. The only downsides are that it is an expensive place to live, and it has a large student population (But that's just me - I hated students even when I was one!)

I live on the 13th floor, and the view over Primrose Hill and Regent's Park is sublime. The people? The people are fine as long as you treat them right.

NY (upstate) Always rush rush rush. People can be very rude. They justify it by saying you're a stranger you don't matter. Very expensive and I will be leaving NY in a few years when I retire. Very pretty and a lot to do here.
