Well for us Londoners, we didn't come out that well, 4 out of the 10 worst places to live in the UK can be found in London, and not a single London borough could be found in the top 10 best places.

So.... is this an accurate judgement on the quality of life here in the big smoke??

London is a huge City and therefore attracts a diverse and mixed people. I have lived in Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Islington and Enfield, basically all my life. I have brought up my family here and love this city. London is a great place to live and work and cannot be judged against the rest of the country as a whole.

Millions migrate into London to live and work and can sometimes find that their pre-conceived ideas of a City can be changed by living within such a diverse community and enjoying the wonderful culture, architecture and arts on their doorstep. No place like it I say!

Truth hurts, does it not - it's okay harping on about the 'diversity and colour' of the capital...and lets face it, naive beings from other parts of the country will always flee up to London upon reading the unstoppable hype of the Londoncentric press...but upon arrival, will learn the people who they read about also are not too keen on Londoners either (mainly because they're originally from other countries - id est: America) who have swallowed the hype just as much as the poor kid from, say, Yorkshire or Merseyside...but the 'foreigners' have the money.
Channel 4 did not go all out to 'diss' the capital...just to show us dears far away from the noose - known to one and all as the M25 - it's not all sixties Routemasters, knees ups, pearly queens, bustling King's Road and The Queen out with her horses at Hyde Park early in the morning...just a moment - neither of these exist now - apart from King's Road, which, like Oxford Street, is still more of a tourist trap...same as it ever was.

Gilly S...if London was not mentioned in the programme, would you have been so sneery? Truth hurts.

Yep saw it as obvioulsy had time to waste...a pointless self opinionated and up its own a*** couple of smug presenters touting the rubbish as some kind of "official" report.

The data on all these shows is highly highly questionable as is the measure by which they are done. Of course London has its fair share of awful places and I live in one - but for all the smug sancatmonious posturing of their best places I would choose my lousy edgy London dump any day over a blue rinse and
Tory-graph riddled village filled with old ladies and no work - but therein lies the problem - tell TV companies to shove their 100 Greatest, Best, Worst, and all other list shows where the sun really won't ever shine and we would all be happier!

Additional answer to Asbo 'Arry: well yes actually - I find the smugness of these programmes awful as they claim authority but are little more than pointless list shows - didn't realise it was smug to disagree or have a different opinion to someone else - better watch what I write and think in future..

I left London 6 years ago and can honestly say it IS getting MUCH worse. So violent and no Police, when I lived there years ago I was constantly getting stopped and searched (no I'm not a black man) and this was fine as long as they didn't find my stash, however now you can get mugged in Berwick Street by big knives or even mini swords, where are the stop and searches. London is a dump, sorry did love it once, when it was safe to work the streets.

I did and from what I know about London (I lived there for two years in the 70s) I'd say yes - it was an accurate judgement!

I was disappointed at how they whipped through so fast. Too many things were left out in order to cover the material so that they can get to Jesus' ministry. Moses is presented as a very talky guy when in reality Aaron was the one who spoke more. Not very many Israelites were shown in the Exodus from Egypt, nor was there any reference made to them leaving with much of the wealth of the Egyptian nobility. Hopefully the remaining nine episodes will be better.
