If you've been married for a few years or are in a long-term relationship, what is it about your spouse/partner specifically that makes you stay faithful to them? I know for a lot of people it's because of moral or religious values, but I'm more interested in people who are faithful specifically because of the person they're with.

I just love my b/f so much, and he is such a great person, loving, kind, we support each other and are a great team in all aspects. I have so much respect for him. I think if I ever betrayed that trust and respect it would hurt him so much, and I never want to cause him pain. If I think about what my life would be like without him in it, it is just too painful, so there is nothing that could risk me losing him. People sometimes think the grass will be greener on the other side of the fence, but I know that it would not be, it would be grey and dull and full of weeds.

I just couldn't do it; the betrayal, the lies and the sneaking around. But, to answer your question on the specific person: Just imagining how the betrayal would impact her, my family, my families history and everything that we worked toward. The things that we share, even the small things are just between us; I couldn't share that with anyone else, nor would I put my wife in a position to believe that I could ever share that with anyone besides her. In the overall scheme of things, I need to be respected in order to feel good about myself. I guess that means I have to respect myself too. Not to mention the - do unto others as you would have them do unto you, Golden Rule thing. Just remember this, a person that will cheat cannot be trusted... once that line has been crossed, they will never be the same.

1) because I love him and even though we have been together for 5 years the passion and romance is as alive as it was on the day we fell inlove.

2) We have the most fun with eachother

3) We believe that we have found the best in eachother and theres no reason to want anyone else.

Theres many more reasons I could give you but I think you get what Im saying...above all its because we dont just love eachother its coz we are still inlove....

I'll still like her enough as a person that I don't want to hurt her , even though if we were to meet for the first time now I don't think we would go out on a date . we've both gone in different directions since we meet 30 yrs ago

Well my gf makes it easy... she is very adventerous sexually (basically nothing she won't try) and she always takes care of my needs even if she isn't really in the mood, and I love her and respect her. I think that if I ever got an offer I couldn't refuse (Jessica Alba.. lol) I'd at least have enuff respect for her to tell her first.

Why not, if the spouse is worthy and meets all expectations like any good human being? Shouldn't one reciprocate, also as a good human being?

You sound like a person ready to bolt and vicariously looking for an excuse to do so.
