i am trying to organise to meet someone half way from the uk and lousiana and dont know what the place closest to this would be please help

Assuming you start from London, and the friend starts from New Orleans, the exact middle would be St. John's, Newfoundland. Not the middle of the Atlantic, as mental Incongru seems to think.
But if you're going to fly there, you might as well fly on to New Orleans instead - it'd probably be a very similar price and New Orleans is a great place to visit.
Heathrow to Louis Armstrong airport (New Orleans) is 4629mi
Heathrow to St. John's is 2316mi.

Unless you get a boat, the only places are northern parts of america, ireland or UK
