The statue outside of almost every court house of a woman in robes with scales a double edjed sword and a blind forld.

Do you think it is a good symbol for today's justice?

Do you think it should/would be changed?

it most definitely should stay the way it is. prosecuters are imprisoning the common citizen blindly. innocent or guilty your prison bound.

the symbolism for the blind justice statue, if I remember right. Supposedly means that justice is blind to race color religion or financial ability.
Which is a crock. They should take off the blind fold and tie her hands. That would be more apropos.

I am not sure it is or ever was, it is a farce, there is no such thing as Justice in our American system, how do you explain that the prosecution has a 98.8 % conviction ratio?? the 1 % had money to buy justice say like O,J, and others who had the dough to fork out, but unless you are well healed give your soul to god as they sure will have your ***, a court appointed pretender doe's exactly what he gets paid to do " get you convicted"

If justice is supposed to be equally given to all as symbolized by the blindfold, then I think that blindfold was ripped-off and trampled underfoot when she lowered herself into the mud to pickup the money for her favors.

If that isn't clear enough, there IS NOT justice for all and hasn't been for a long time. If you have money, you can buy your justice, if not, tough for you.

Honestly, my impression about the blindfold was never that everyone is equal in the eyes of the court, but the opposite: justice is not allowed to see the truth...

It should stay the same. It's not just an American ideal.

Justice is Blind.

I hate it but I have no better option. I think it's really corny.
