Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different all the advice that you have been given may be help full however don't stress your wife out too much by telling her to keep away from the fatty foods, eat ginger, don't do back flips in the morning etc etc.....
If your wife is more than 12weeks pregnant your obstetrician can assist you with some medication that will help ease the sickness. I do feel sorry for your wife all the advise that i can give you is to be a good husband and help her relax as much as possible. You will forget how bad these times are when your bundle of joy is finally in your arms.
Good Luck with all of it....

Have her snack on some crackers. Tell her to try to not have big gaps between meals because keeping some food in the stomach helps keep the acid lower. The best thing I ever did was never let my self reach complete hunger before I ate. Because if I did I would get sick. It must of worked because I have never gotten sick to the point of throwing up while I was pregnant. Came close a few times, but every woman does. Mine started to pass by the fourth month. Don't worry it dose pass. It is very rare that a woman stay sick threw the whole pregnancy.

I have had three pregnancies and what really helped with morning sickness is ginger tea. You can get it at whole foods. It's best not to take drugs of any kind while pregnant. Another thing in the vitamin section is called mother's bliss. That and other products like it are for morning sickness. Just ask the clerk and they will help you find it.

Try ginger, I like raw ginger root the best - just peel a small piece and place it under the tongue or between the gum and cheek, no need to chew on it or anything.
Trying to eat small amounts frequently also seems to help, so you never have a really empty stomach.
One thing I haven't seen anyone else suggest that is definitely worth a shot is Sea Bands or travel sickness bands - they're just like sweatbands with a little button on them, you wear them on your wrists and the button stimulates a pressure point that helps relieve nausea (doesn't have to be travel related!). It doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth trying - especially because you don't have to eat anything for it to have an effect!

The advice is endless. Trust me. My wife is pregnant right now and the morning sickness is finally over it. The amount of advice we heard was ridiculous. But, some of the more scientific things we heard were that: ginger helps settle an upset stomach, vitamin B6 helps breakdown the pregnancy hormones, and my wife found that if she ate immediately after waking up, she usually was better.
I feel your pain my friend.
As a aside...... Its a good sign that your wife is sick, it means that she is getting enough of her pregnancy hormones. Several doctors have told me that if a woman is not getting sick, they are worried.

Don't get up too quickly
Have a drink of weak tea (not sweet)
Have a dry biscuit with the tea
Unfortunately there is not much more that this. The good side is that is usually wears off after a month or so.
Congratulation and good luck for the rest of the pregnancy and the birth.

I suffered really bad with my first pregnancy and it wasn't just mornings. I tried all the usual things like ginger, but nothing worked. After I was admitted into hospital because I was throwing up blood because I'd torn something inside with all the retching the doctor prescribed Gaviscon, which suprisingly did help.

I'm sorry to hear this as I suffered 7 months of it with my daughter. You can talk to her Dr who can prescribe her a different vitamin.Crackers and flat gingerale help. But food is usually so not welcomed by a woman going through morning sickness. If hers is based off of her new heightened sense of smell buy her some lemons.Tell her to cut them in half squeeze a little and then smell it for a few minutes. The smell of lemon is soothing.Another good thing is peppermint anything, peppermint tea I highly recommend with a dollop of honey and a spritz of lemon...
Good luck and rub her tummy for her not round and round in large circles but tight circles right on the uterus. That helped soothe me alot as well:)

Soda crackers and ginger ale are about the best. If she is having it bad as soon as she gets out of bed in the morning, it's good to have a few soda crackers before she gets moving.

She could try eating apples - they were the only thing that worked for me. If she can't face the idea of eating them, try sniffing them - I found them wonderfully soothing when I had my little girl. Strangely enough, when I had my son, I was sick for about 10 minutes - maybe you've got a daughter on the way! Congratulations.
