I'm in the middle of it too and i just can't put it down. I can't believe that people would turn a blind eye to what was happening to her. They weren't blind though they just didn't care.

Have you read the book The Child Called "It", by Dave Peltzer? It's a great book. I think you'd be interested in him. It's a biography of what happened to him in his childhood. He suffered abuse from his mother, and was put into the foster care system, bouncing from one home to the next for years. It makes you sad and angry, but it's a true story. Dave Peltzer has also written several other books too. The Lost Boy, A Man Named Dave. And who knows how many other books. So, if you are into these types of books, then go for Dave Peltzer. Oh, and no, I've never read Piece Of Cake, but I WILL look for it in the library. Thanks:-)
