No, I don't have a job.

I've traveled a lot, done temp work etc... so I've worked for all kinds of bosses, good and bad.

I have worked for serious control freaks before. What I do now if that's the case... is update my resume, keep checking the employment sites and news papers, apply for anything and everything that would be just as good or better than the current job, and when I have a new job to go to... quit as amicably as possible.

I used to have a bad habit of telling people "where to stick it" in situations like that. But I'm getting better at holding my tongue. Going off the handle at people like that doesn't achieve anything, doesn't make them see what they're really like (nothing does)... and the high turnover of staff, that a boss like that inevitably has to deal with, is going to cause them far more hassle than a quip from me.

No. I am the boss and I am the control freak. I can delegate authority, but I still micromanage everything. It takes a long time for me to trust someone to do it my way.

Nah...generally he's pretty laid back, UNTIL you question his authority or his management skills. THEN he's pretty quick to tell you (or more like YELL at you) that HE'S the boss and that I shouldn't forget that.

We got into THAT argument once because he failed to do anything about a harassment complaint, and I told him "well, since I know what harassment is and you apparently don't , you might BE the boss, but who really SHOULD be?" That didn't go over too well. :\
