Fact is: Muslims want us to respect their laws in their countries, why can they not respect ours?
Democracy will some say: Sure, but we have a culture and other people should respect that.
Why era the western world always the ones that must adopt and do what others want.
It is time we stand up for ourselves and be aware of terrorism and facial expressions that are hidden behind the veil.
Believe me, most Muslim women will love us when we make laws that alow headscarfs, but no veils in our countries.
Many will say no and Muslims will riot again, but they must realise: What goes for th goose, goes for the geese.Stop feeling guilrty about who we are and what we stand for: Freedom.
The scarf abuse women rights in our society and they must understand that it is our way and laws.We don't discrimanate against their religion, but want nothing to do with something that discriminate against women.
Nothing they say or do must be accepted.

I'm sorry, were you asking a question, or just preaching? If the question is whether or not Muslim women are offended by treatement in Western society when they cover or are veiled, then the answer, from one American Muslim is: Yes. I got pulled over several times, for wearing a scarf, got the police called to Wal-mart to "arrest a terrorist" because I was wearing full hijab. For safety reasons, Muslim women in the Middle East are often asked to remove their veils to verify identity. As long as we are permitted to wear something to cover our hair, there will be no "rioting" as you assume. Our religion teaches tolerance, believe it or not. If you respect our beliefs, we will respect yours.

I don't exactly think that the veil abuses Muslim women's rights in Western nations, it's more often than not, their choice to wear it, unlike in places like Saudi Arabia where it's required by law.

I agree that as a security/safety measure that Muslim women should not cover their entire face, but aside from that, what's the problem with them wearing it? Does the scarf/veil/burkah really offend anyone when it's just being worn over the head, but not covering the face?

I think you are making crazy assumptions because of the climate of fear that the govenments of the world have created. A veil for a muslim woman is no different to a bra in western culture, it is bold and crass not to wear one in public. Freedom is the right to wear what ever you like... as well as practice any religion you believe in. A woman should have the choise to wear a veil is she wishes for what ever reason she wishes ...as should a man.

This really has to do with negative perception of middle eastern culture. That may be somewhat understandable, but it will go away when world attention turn to something other than conflicts in middle east. Lot of t-shirts in western countries including USA are far more offensive than wearing traditional clothing.

There are no western standards of dress b/c the west is made up of so many cultures. It's ridiculous for it to be illegal for people to wear veils. It's sad that you equate veils w terrorism - you are prejudice and ignorant.

lol Banning the veil makes just as much sense as banning T-shirt with the sign "Metallica". It's just a piece of cloth, and it doesn't offend anything. Besides, most women CHOOSE to wear it.
