i would like to re-invent this character and bring him to the 21st century but without copying the character from 'Cruel Intentions' im making him a 20 year old and the other thing is that we have a multi-cultural team; Rosmonde is black we've also made Madame de Tourvel a bubble gum chewing blonde . we basically wanting to change all the characters except Valmont and Marteuil. please help. anything just to get my head working.

I don't know much about acting, but just please don't do Surfer Dude Danceny like Keanu did. I do like Keanu, but really.

If you are going modern, might I suggest an Emo Danceny? The fashion choices would easily inform the character and let the audience in on the joke.
He's a sensitive soul, who feels things deeply, caught up in a world that isn't fair, a star-crossed lover.... doesn't that describe an emo guy? =)
